In August 2017 published the best article I’ve ever seen on current science for treating chronic low back pain. If you’re not familiar with what’s new, it will stun you. The article reviews in great detail each type of treatment. Bottom line: the traditional medical approaches of surgery, drugs, and injections are of limited benefit in the typical patient with mechanical low back pain. (Note: I’m not talking about serious illnesses like cancer, severe nerve impairment, or inflammatory arthritis.) Highly recommended. A companion article discusses Dr. John Sarno’s approach to low back pain, which is controversial but has helped a number of my patients.

If you have back pain, you owe it to yourself to read the article.
